Editor's note: We received the following letter and
two others just like it by Mr. Bennett on
his way to the Bahamas. The second letter was to Garth Hichens at Annapolis Yachts Sales suggesting Seacurefill as an after market option of great
value for the reduction of pollution in the Chesapeake. The third was to John Rix,
President of Seacurefill exclaiming his satisfaction with the
product.

Dear sir,
My purpose for writing is to introduce you to a product
that I have installed on my Beneteau 473 (Hull #62) that has
solved a big issue for me.
The problem of overboard fuel spills is inherent in every
boat that has fuel tanks with overboard vents. It’s difficult
at best to fully fill a tank without some fuel coming out the
vent line and therefore into the water. Therein lies the
problem as this spill is not only bad for the environment but
highly illegal. Currently there is little enforcement of the
laws for these minor spills but the day is coming.
The product, "Seacurefill", installs in the vent line of
the fuel tank and prevents all overboard fuel line vent
spills. It’s a simple device with no moving parts, it’s easy
to install and best of all it works. I have enclosed product
data for your information.
"Seacurefill" is a product that you could easily install in
production either as standard equipment or a priced option. As
an ex-marketing guy, I can see the advertising value of
Beneteau’s effort to reduce pollution.
Sincerely,
David Bennett
